  WELCOME!!
Hello and welcome to our website!!
Little Bee Academy is a home based daycare located in Bellevue Nebraska. We are located just 7 minutes from Offutt Air Force Base and less than 10 minutes
from the Kennedy Freeway. We’re very close to Old Towne Bellevue.
I am happy to offer a safe, loving and nurturing family style environment with quality care for your children. I keep the daycare small and cozy which gives
me more time with each child on an individual basis.
Your child's safety, comfort, and environment are of utmost importance to me.

ABOUT ME
My name is Dawn Brazda. I have been married to my husband Mike for 16 years. We have 4 amazing children. Brandon is 15, Sierra is 13, Brooke is 10 and Aubrey is 5. I started my daycare in August of 2006. In June of 2006, I resigned from TDAmeritrade after 7 years in their Fraud / Loss Prevention Department, to spend time with Aubrey before she started Kindergarten. They grow up so fast and I really wanted to take in this time with her so I came up with the idea of just having a few extra kids around everyday for her to play with and it grew into a new career and lifestyle for me. I LOVE IT! It  has worked out really well for all of us!! At the most, I have had 4 children in my care at one time (one of them being my own child). Because I have chose to keep the daycare small, I never became licensed, although I am now seriously rethinking that.
My husband is in law enforcement and is here a lot of the time since he works a rotating shift. He is a licensed "first responder". He carries certification in both CPR and First Aid, among other certifications. I am also planning to get my First Aid and CPR certifications after the first of the year.
We all have a true and deep love for children in this family and so choosing to start this daycare has turned out to be one of the most rewarding decisions yet!!

HOURS OF OPERATION
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.

RATES

At this time, I only provide full-time childcare. I do not have any part-time positions.
My fees are:
$125 wk per child for children up to 2 years of age.
$110 wk per child for children 2 years of age and older.

I do offer a 10% sibling discount. For example, if you have a 6 week old baby and an 18 month old child , your total would be $225 per week.
($125 + $125 = $250 - $25 (10%) = $225 )

SUPPLIES
Parents are responsible for supplying diapers, one full change of clothing, and any other supplies your child may need (baby food, cereal, formula, baby bottles, etc.)
We will supply the baby wipes, diaper ointment, sippy cups, bibs, blankets, pillows and fun!  :)

DAILY SCHEDULE
Our days are very flexible.
We do not adhere to any strict schedules, although we do keep the days fairly structured. For example, we may have lunch at 11am one day and the next day it
may be 11:30 before we sit down and eat. Or one day it may work out better with the kids to read a story in the morning and the next day we’ll read in the afternoon
right before quiet time.
It just depends on the kids, their moods and their schedules. We take it day by day.

MEALS
Breakfast, hot lunch and afternoon snacks are provided.
If your child has not eaten breakfast before they are dropped off in the morning, they can eat once they arrive and get settled in.
Children need to arrive by 8:30am for breakfast. Lunch is served at 11:00am and afternoon snack is served once children wake from naps.
We prepare homemade, nutritious, balanced meals designed to appeal to the tastes of young children. For our younger toddlers and babies who are not
quite ready to tackle table food, we ask that you please provide the baby food / cereal / formula that you prefer us to serve your child at mealtime
(or at their scheduled feedings).
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that you let us know in advance of any possible food allergies that your child may have.

REST TIME
All children 5 years of age and under will be required to lie down for a rest time each day. This will be an approximate two-hour rest period sometime between
12:30pm- 3:30pm (depending on our morning activities). I will provide a suitable crib, play pen, cot or mat, with a clean blanket and pillow for each child.
(If you wish to provide a favorite blanket or stuffed animal for them to sleep with from home, that is perfectly fine). If your child does not nap, they may
watch a movie, be given a book, puzzle or something else they can play with quietly during this time.

OUTDOOR PLAY AREA
The outdoor play area is fenced and kept clear of hazards that may injure your child. Children are supervised during outside play. We will play outside when
the weather permits.

ILLNESS
Medical and emergency information forms must be turned in on your child‘s first day of attendance. Please make sure that all immunizations are current.
We ask you to keep children at home if there are showing any signs of fever, pain, frequent coughing, signs of conjunctivitis (pink eye), vomiting, or diarrhea.
If a child exhibits any of these symptoms in our care, we will ask that you please come pick your child up immediately. If any contagious disease is diagnosed,
please let me know as soon as possible so that we can let other families know that their child has been exposed.

VACATION
You are not responsible for paying me for any of my vacation days since you will be paying a back-up in my absence. If we are going on vacation,
everyone will be given at least a months notice so there is plenty of time to find back-up care for your child.
If you are taking vacation or your child is absent for any other reason (illness, etc.), you will still need to pay for those days your child would normally be present.

PLEASE NOTE:
Little Bee Academy is not a school. We use age appropriate toys and tools for learning but we do not follow any set curriculum.
Example: building blocks, puzzles, leap frog learning systems, drawing and reading. We also work on the alphabet, colors, shapes and counting. Lots of fun stuff!
It is a place to learn, grow and just have fun being a kid.

Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions at all.
